When you use HouseRun, we collect information necessary to provide our service:
Phone number — used for login and OTP verification
Full name and email (optional) — for your profile and communications
Search requirements (briefs) — area, budget, property type, must-haves
For agents: NIN (verified but not stored), bank account details, territory selections, uploaded photos and voice notes
Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, device type — for service improvement
To match seekers with verified local agents
To process payments and transfer agent payouts via Paystack
To send OTPs, booking confirmations, and deal notifications via SMS and WhatsApp
To verify agent identities via NIN (processed by Dojah — we receive a verified/unverified result only)
To improve our matching algorithm and platform quality
We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with essential service providers:
Paystack — payment processing and bank transfers
Africa's Talking — SMS and WhatsApp notifications
Cloudinary — property photo and voice note storage
Dojah — NIN identity verification (for agents only)
Firebase — push notifications
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are kept for 7 years as required by Nigerian financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing support@houserun.ng.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are not stored — we use phone OTP authentication. Bank details are handled exclusively by Paystack and are never stored on our servers.
